Your Listing Isn’t Broken—Your Story Is.

Why better words beat lower prices every time.

Let me tell you—price is rarely the reason your listing isn't converting.

Sure, price matters. But unless you’re charging $99 for a paperclip, it’s not your biggest problem.

The truth?

📉 If your listing isn’t converting, it’s because your customer doesn’t believe in your product.

And belief isn’t built with numbers. It’s built with words, images, and trust.

Let me show you what I mean…

📖 The Time I Nearly Tanked a 5-Star Product

A few years ago, I helped a seller named Matt.

Matt had a great product—premium resistance bands with reinforced stitching, anti-snap tech, and bonus access to a fitness app. Killer value.

He priced them competitively at $29.95.

But… crickets. His listing was getting clicks, but the conversion rate was under 6%.

He thought, “Must be the price. I’ll drop it to $24.95.”

Still nothing. So he went even lower—$19.95.

Guess what?

📉 His sales didn’t go up. They went down. Now he looked cheap instead of premium.

That’s when Matt called me, slightly panicked, definitely frustrated.

“Andy,” he said, “I don’t get it. My product’s better. My price is lower. Why is nobody buying?”

I took one look at his listing and knew the answer:

👉 His bullets were generic.
👉 His images were cluttered.
👉 His title was stuffed with keywords, but lacked emotion.
👉 And his A+ content? Nonexistent.

He wasn’t selling benefits. He was listing features.

He wasn’t painting a picture of transformation. He was reciting specs.

There was zero story. Zero emotion. Zero trust.

So we rolled up our sleeves and went to work.

🔢 Here’s the 5-Step Fix I Used to Turn Matt’s Listing Around

1. Fix the First Impression (Main Image)
Your main image should scream quality and clarity. We reshot his bands with better lighting, tighter framing, and clean contrast.

2. Nail the Title
We rewrote his title with a “what, who, and why it matters” approach:

"Heavy-Duty Resistance Bands Set – No-Snap Tech + Free Fitness App – Home Workouts for Busy Moms & Dads"

3. Emotional Bullets > Boring Bullets
Instead of:

“Made from 100% latex. Comes in 5 resistance levels.”

We wrote:

“Never worry about snapping mid-squat again – our no-slip bands keep up with your toughest workouts.”

4. Tell the Product’s Story in Images
We added benefit-driven images:

  • One showing a busy mom doing a quick living-room workout.

  • One highlighting the bonus app access.

  • One with trust icons: “Lifetime Guarantee,” “Over 10,000 Sold,” “Top Rated on Amazon.”

5. Add A+ Content (and Make It Personal)
We created a brand story: Matt’s journey from gym rat to stay-at-home dad who wanted a better home fitness option.

We included comparison charts, testimonials, and even a cheeky headline:

“Skip the Gym. Keep the Gains.”

🎯 The Big Takeaway

🧠 People don’t buy because of what you sell.

They buy because of why it matters to them.

If your listing looks like everyone else’s—just cheaper—you’re not convincing. You’re confusing.

Don’t race to the bottom on price. Climb to the top with better messaging.

💬 As I always say:

“Your listing isn’t a product sheet. It’s a sales pitch with a pulse.”

🙋‍♂️ So… if you’re stuck watching your sessions go up but your conversions stay flat?

👉 Don’t cut your price. Craft your story.

Your product deserves better. And so do you.
