This One Product Is Quietly Draining Your Profits
And deep down... you already know which one it is.

If you can’t kill a losing product… it will slowly kill your business.
I know… that one stings a bit.
But I’ve seen it too many times.
Good people. Smart sellers. Hard workers.
Holding onto a dead product like it’s going to magically come back to life.
Spoiler: it won’t.
And the longer you wait… the more it costs you.
📖 The $8,000 Garlic Press That Taught Me Everything
Early in my Amazon journey, I launched what I thought was a winner…
A premium garlic press.
Better design. Better packaging. “Unique angle.” All the buzzwords 😅
I went all in:
$5,000 in inventory
$2,000 in PPC
Endless late nights tweaking listings
At first… sales trickled in.
Then… they stalled.
Then… ads started bleeding money.
But here’s the part most people won’t admit:
👉 I knew it wasn’t working.
But I kept going anyway.
Why?
Because I didn’t want to be wrong.
So I told myself:
“Maybe it’s the images…”
“Maybe I need more reviews…”
“Maybe next month will be better…”
Sound familiar?
Three months later…
I had burned through $8,000 and still had boxes collecting dust.
That’s when it hit me:
👉 I wasn’t running a business.
👉 I was babysitting a bad decision.
🔢 When to Kill a Product (The No-BS Checklist)
Let’s cut through the noise.
Here’s exactly how I decide today.
1. 🚨 No Traction After 60–90 Days
If your product has:
Solid listing (images, title, keywords)
Competitive price
Active PPC
…and STILL isn’t getting consistent sales?
That’s a signal.
Not every product deserves more time.
2. 💸 PPC Can’t Get Profitable (or Close)
Ads are your truth serum.
If after testing:
Auto + manual campaigns
Different bids
Keyword variations
…and your ACoS is still sky-high with no path to profit…
You don’t have an ad problem.
👉 You have a product problem.
3. ⭐ Reviews Are Telling You Something
Read your 3-star reviews like your business depends on it.
Because it does.
If customers keep saying:
“Cheap quality”
“Broke after one use”
“Not as described”
That’s not a tweak.
That’s a fundamental flaw.
4. 📉 The Market Doesn’t Care
This one hurts the most.
Sometimes:
The niche is too saturated
The demand isn’t there
Or your “differentiation” isn’t actually different
The market votes with clicks and wallets.
And silence is still a vote.
5. 🧠 You’re Emotionally Attached
This is the silent killer.
If you’re thinking:
“I’ve already invested so much…”
“I just need one good week…”
“I can’t quit now…”
That’s not strategy.
That’s emotion.
And emotion is expensive.
🎯 The Big Lesson Most Sellers Learn Too Late
Killing a product isn’t failure.
👉 It’s resource reallocation.
Every dollar stuck in a bad product is:
Inventory you can’t reinvest
Ad spend you’re wasting
Time you’re not using on a winner
Remember…
Most of you reading this are juggling:
Jobs
Families
Late nights building this dream
(You’re not alone in that grind — it’s exactly what I see across sellers every day )
You don’t have unlimited shots.
So don’t waste them.
🧠 What I Do Instead (The Pivot Strategy)
When I kill a product, I don’t just walk away.
I extract value.
Here’s how:
Step 1: Liquidate Smart
Run promos
Bundle it
Break even if you can
Cash flow > ego.
Step 2: Audit the Failure
Ask:
Was it demand?
Competition?
Differentiation?
Pricing?
There’s always a lesson hiding in the loss.
Step 3: Reinvest Fast
Take what’s left and:
Launch a better product
Improve an existing one
Double down on a proven winner
Speed matters.
Momentum matters.
💬 The Rule I Live By
“Cut losers fast. Fund winners faster.”
Simple.
Not easy.
But simple.
✅ Final Takeaway
You don’t build a winning Amazon business by being right every time.
You build it by:
Cutting what doesn’t work
Doubling down on what does
Fast.
Clean.
No drama.
