If Your Sales Are Stuck... Read This
You’re likely focused on the wrong numbers
Most Amazon sellers don’t fail because they lack effort…
They fail because they’re watching the wrong scoreboard.
I see it all the time.
Sellers refreshing dashboards like it’s the stock market…
CTR, impressions, sessions, clicks, tacos (yeah, ACOS 😅)…
But none of it is tied to what actually pays the bills.
And that’s the trap.
Because when you track everything…
You focus on nothing.
📖 The Night I Almost Killed a Winning Product
A few years back, I had a product doing “okay.”
Not great. Not terrible.
But I was stressed.
Why?
Because my ACOS was sitting at 38%.
My CTR wasn’t “guru-level.”
My impressions were all over the place.
So what did I do?
I panicked.
I started:
Cutting bids
Pausing keywords
Tweaking listings every other day
Basically… over-touching everything
Within 2 weeks?
Sales dropped 40%. 📉
Yeah… I “optimized” myself into a hole.
Then I did something simple…
I looked at just THREE numbers.
And everything changed.
🔢 The 3 Metrics That Actually Matter 🎯
Let’s cut the noise.
If you’re a beginner to intermediate seller (like most folks grinding nights and weekends ), these are your lifelines:
1. 💰 Contribution Profit (Per Unit)
Not revenue.
Not even gross profit.
I’m talking:
What’s left after ads, fees, and costs.
Because here’s the truth:
👉 You don’t deposit ACOS into your bank account.
If you sell a product for $25 and:
Amazon takes $10
Your product costs $6
Ads cost $5
You’re left with $4.
That’s your game.
If that number is positive and scalable… you’re winning.
2. 📈 Conversion Rate (CVR)
This is your silent killer or secret weapon.
Because:
Low CVR = you’re paying for wasted clicks
High CVR = you can outbid competitors all day
Simple math.
If your listing converts at:
10% → you struggle
20% → you compete
30%+ → you dominate
This is where listing quality lives:
Images
Title
Reviews
Price
Fix this… and everything else gets easier.
3. 🚀 Total Sales Velocity
This is the momentum meter.
Amazon LOVES products that sell.
More sales → better rank → more organic traffic → more sales.
That flywheel?
That’s the whole game.
I don’t care if your ACOS is 40% temporarily…
If your velocity is climbing AND you’re still profitable?
You’re building a moat.
🚫 The 7 Metrics That Don’t Matter (As Much As You Think)
Now let’s talk about the distractions 😅
These aren’t useless…
They’re just secondary.
❌ 1. ACOS (alone)
Without profit context, it’s meaningless.
❌ 2. ROAS
Same problem. Pretty ratio. No reality.
❌ 3. Impressions
Cool vanity number. Doesn’t pay rent.
❌ 4. Click-Through Rate (CTR)
Nice to improve… but useless if you don’t convert.
❌ 5. Sessions/Page Views
Traffic without sales = expensive curiosity.
❌ 6. Keyword Rankings
Ego metric unless it drives revenue.
❌ 7. Number of Orders
Orders don’t matter… profitable orders do.
🎯 Big Takeaway
If you remember nothing else, remember this:
👉 Profit + Conversion + Velocity = Growth
That’s it.
Everything else?
Supporting actors.
Not the lead role.
When you simplify your focus, you:
Make faster decisions
Stress less
Scale smarter

You stop sabotaging your own success like I did 😅
